Year-long course

Revolutions of Thought is an interdisciplinary course taught in segments by a series of teachers. Each teacher presents a different topic, under the general theme of revolutionary ideas or events that changed the way the world was viewed. In the current academic year topics include the Socratic Revolution; Cosmology and the Telescope; Evolution and the Theory of Natural Selection, Race, Racism and Racial Identity; Medieval and Renaissance Views of Death; Revolution in Drama; Rock ‘n’ Roll Influence; Stream of Consciousness and Fragmentation as a Literary Technique; Power of Statistics; The Significance of Vietnam and The Cultural Impact of John Cage.

Course topics for next year have not been determined. [One credit. Open to sophomores, juniors and seniors with departmental approval. This course does not fulfill any part of the 3-3-2 graduation requirement. ]
